Overview

A love of maps and type collide in this playful exploration of imaginary islands, where numbers becomes places, and each place speaks its own language.

There’s something very satisfying about this project. Maybe it’s because I love maps, but it’s also the texture and tone of the work. It feels like something pulled from an early 20th century Robinson Crusoe edition. It's just neat, thoughtful and quietly cool.

Shahin Haghjou:
“I had the honour of doing the numerology for the may issue of Yorokubu magazine. Since maps are a passion of mine, the idea was to create imaginary numeric islands where each island is named in the language of its supposed geographical location.
