“Inspired by Confucianism and its teachings on bettering oneself, the bench is based on the Chinese character “人” for people to sit back in a reclined position to rest and reflect on their thoughts.

The first brush stroke outlines the seating deck, while the second provides the form with structural support. Through its form, the bench creates an extended leg area, for 2 - 3 persons to rest comfortably in a low reclined position.

The name is a play on the Chinese phrase “做人” symbolizing to conduct oneself with integrity.”
