Overview

Parked, But Going Places

Spanning from 2013 to 2019, Franck Bohbot’s Parked Cars series is a stylised portrait of the United States told not through people, but through the cars they’ve left behind. Each image is perfectly framed to show the parked vehicle within its environment. Where the surroundings feel just as carefully chosen as the car itself.

I feel this series is not just about cars, it’s tells countless personal stories. You begin to imagine the people who drove them and the journeys they took. What roads were travelled and why? Where they were heading? What they were celebrating? Who sat beside them? What kind of music played. There’s something deeply human about it.

They aren’t just static in place objects. They’re road trips, late-night chats, break-ups, school runs, moments of hurry and moments of reflection.

It’s not just going from A to B. It’s the whole alphabet of life in between.
