Overview

Photography and retouching (lots of it).

The whole portfolio of Thomas shows a great love for cars, so it’s fitting he was handed the keys to capture the W05 Hybrid, the car that utterly dominated the 2014 Formula 1 season.

The brief called for images that felt as confident as Lewis and Nico’s lap times, and the German photographer answered with a studio-meets-CGI setup that captures every tight panel gap without losing the car’s hard-earned race character.

It’s the kind of meticulous finish you’d expect from a shooter who has been blending photography and CGI since the late 90s, yet the imagery still leaves room for a whiff of brake dust and competition.
