Project Information

A weightless city, built from paper and light.

Julie Wilkinson and Joyanne Horscroft of The Makerie Studio have a knack for turning paper into poetry, and their personal project Cloud City is no exception.

Collaborating with photographer Luke Kirwan, they crafted a series of iridescent paper structures inspired by the intricate patterns of Moroccan architecture. Think carved palaces and sculpted facades that seem almost too delicate to exist. But instead of stone, they used paper – Layered, cut and assembled into a floating metropolis that feels both ancient and otherworldly.
