Back into the light. Where Hansel and Gretel lost their way

This series finds its power at the boundary between beautiful and unsettling.

Killian ventured into the remote woodland areas that once separated the East from the West along the Iron Curtain to reveal just how the landscape has evolved in isolation, untouched by human development.

These images have a palpable weight not just in their moody, atmospheric quality and feel both timeless and a little haunted. They invite us to consider how political boundaries imprint on nature long after the barriers have fallen.
