The city turns abstract when you look straight up.

You know that moment when you’re walking through a city and suddenly look up, only to be completely floored by what’s above you?

That’s the essence of Peter Stewart’s “Stacked.” In this series, the Australian photographer captures Hong Kong’s dense public housing estates from below, transforming them into surreal, almost sci-fi compositions. By pointing his camera skyward, Stewart reveals a world of repeating patterns, vibrant colours, and architectural rhythms that are easy to miss at street level.

It’s a fascinating juxtaposition: the impersonal scale of the architecture contrasted with the intimate signs of daily life.
