Overview

Despite the title, the series is not an outright rejection of fashion. Instead, it reflects Shin’s evolving perspective on the subject.

Initially viewing fashion as superficial, he began the project to challenge his own assumptions and to engage more deeply with the art form.

I feel this perspective to understand from within. To research and challenge a belief to be the essence of humanity. The best way to have perspective on a subject is to understand it – To take it in and to be part of it.

In doing so, he found that the varied patterns, proportions, and colours in fashion offered a rich playground for creative exploration.

For a deeper look at the series, you can explore the collection on Shin’s Tumblr: idontlikeclothes.tumblr.com.
