Overview

Creativity in unexpected places.

While on a photo shoot in Spain, Marie discovered a little stray scruffy dog searching for food. She called him Tschikko Leopold von Werner and brought him back to her home in Germany.

Noticing how his golden coat resembled that of a lion, she created a lion's mane for him using leftover fabric. From then on, she began photographing him at various landmarks in and around Hamburg. Tschikko affectionately earned the nickname GROSSSTADTLÖWE, which means "Big City Lion."

At its core, this photo series is about transformation, not just of Tschikko, but of how we see the world and the potential for creativity in unexpected places.
